Miracles do happen!!!

Miracles do happen!!!

We spend all day yesterday trying to find a way to get a sooner date for court. We even waiting for our judge by his office for an hour only to find out he sneaked out on us. The day before we also approached him to try to explain our situation, but he did not even stop to listen. ( and yes unfortunately we even offered him money ) . We really had no choice. Our only option was to stay in Ukraine for at least another month and a half and pay for apartment, food, transportation etc OR go back to US for three weeks, come back to Ukraine Oct 10, for court without Nessi, I would stay here just for court and then fly back and then Sergei would came with the boys in a few weeks later. And worst of all it would be really sad to leave the boys behind for that long :(. So anyways today again in morning we made some calls and everyone said that it is impossible to change a judge once you have been assigned one (we wanted to switch to another judge who might have sooner appt) So regardless of what everyone said we came to court as asked for another judge. The new judge secretary helped us put together a request for another judge. We waiting for approval for several hours and got awesome news : We are assigned a new judge and our court is Sep 19th !!!! Praise God. We asked the secretary how we can thank her (basically asked how much money she wanted for her help.) She sincerely told us that she didn't want anything, she just wanted to help us. I left the court in tears, I could not believe what happened and mostly WHY did she decided to help us. I just really thank everyone who is praying for us. When we were walking to court I had absolutely no hope! Thanks you everyone for your encouraging emails (and blog posts) It's so nice to hear that people are praying for us and waiting for our safe return. Thank you, we love you very much and please always keep us in your prays, we are only half way done. And we pray that God will bless you in your time of need, just as much as He has blessed us here.
We have meet some really great people, our landlord for one , is an amazing person (and his wife). They have helped us a lot and are always asking for ways they can help. They even took us shopping and out to eat in a very nice restaurant and what I am most thankful for is they introduced us a awesome coffee shop which is actually only a couple blocks for us. Believe it or not , but it's better than starbucks, not only that but their restrooms even have toilet paper( it is very unusual for a bathroom to come with that here). They have also offered to take us to the city were the boys were born to pick up birth certificates. That will be huge help since we don't have a car.
Also believe it or not we ran into someone from Salem here !!!! One of my friends brother, who is also a past client of ours. That was a huge shocker for us !!!!!! SMALL WORLD!!!! They were headed to Yalta, a really big city about one and half hours from here. So they grabbed us along. Nessi had a blast, they have 2 girls Vanessa's age.
We also visited Valery at the hospital yesterday, he is doing really good. He seems to be very well but the doctors want to keep him in the hospital until Monday just to make sure he doesn't get any of the other kids sick.
The hospital was another huge shocker for us... It's is a extremely old building with cracked tile floors, electric wires that are visible and just really dirty It looked like its been years since the floors were washed. The main lobby had a really strong cigarette smell, the director of the hospital was sitting in his office smoking. I didn't know these of hospital existing on our planet. And this is not a hospital for orphans, this is Simerpoles main children's hospital. I really thank God I never had to take Vanessa to a hospital like that and hopefully never have to see my boys there! Can't wait for Valery to be our of there. Lucky the little guy doesn't think anything is wrong with the hospital because it is just like his Orphanage :( I really can't even explain how thankful I am for everything that we have.

I also thought this was interesting... when we came to the orphanage the first day the director told us she wasn't really familiar with adoption process because it's been a while since someone has adoption from her orphanage (last adoption she did was more than a year ago) we just found out that there are now 3 Italian couple trying to adopt kids from this orphanage, just within this past week. Praise God !!!!!!! Unfortunately we can't talk to them since they don't speak same language, but we can just point to the kids and we all know why we are there :)

Sorry forgot my own password, so I'm still under you :P

I am so happy to hear that your court date was changed ! That really is a miracle ! And the fact that the lady doesn't even want anything for it is so touching !!

Gosh, reading the things you write about the hospital and orphanages is just unbelievable. It's so true that you forget that places like that (and much much worse) are all over the world. We really are so truly blessed to have all the things we have.

I am so happy things are moving along and hope they continue that way :)

As always, kisses and hugs to Vanessa :)

Love Olga & Michael

Hey Sweetheart!

I'm so happy to hear things turned around! I really had no doubt! I know our Lord will always take care of things. It still is a true blessing...

I cannot believe the things your write! No toilet paper, or the apt, or especially the hospital! There are times we wish we had more, but just to think there are people who don't have clean water, warm clean beds, or a decent hospital to take care of us when we are sick is so heartbreaking!

We miss you guys and are so excited that you guys will be coming home soon. So will you guys be able to come back before Oct 4th now that the court is moved up???

Hugs and kisses to you all and of course my little ~princess~
